I plan on bringing my car to the dealer as i've been doing since the start. The dealer then calls Mercury to get authorization and payment via credit card. This is all done over the phone. The best part is that I am still eligible to get a loaner since I bought the car from there. Hope this helps.

I have til next Jan before my manuf warranty runs out so I am at the dealer all the time getting advantage of it. Hopefully I'll get all the "kinks" out before my warranty expires and I'll not have to use my "mechanical" breakdown warranty. I didn't buy the service that includes breaks and oil changes and such. I did pay an extra 100 to not have a deductible. Typically you wouldn't get this benefit after the manuf warranty is up and you buy the extended warranty.

My Ride: 2005 525i Silver Gray Gray Leather Premium Package Auto Nav
For some reason when I go to http://www.autowarrantybroker.com/quoterequest.asp and enter in my car info (05 525 with 26k miles) the only option I can choose is a Dura Lube warranty.

Take care about buying the policy from a broker. You may be able to get it at the dealer but at a primium. I have the phone number and PM me for more info and a contact.

Just looked at Mercury Platnium warranty today and rates went up as of June 1st significantly. For example my 04 545i for 100k platinum went up 56% in the course of 1 day.
