For all of those in the know, thx in advance for responding. My question is this: what kind of lead time do you need to secure a set of winter tires for your Eurodelivery? Also, how do you know if you really need them? Time of year makes it an automatic yes or weather at the time of pickup? My dealer who happens to be extremely knowledgable is in the process of answering all of my questions but I'm just anxious for the answers. I sat with him yesterday for an hour and we called Munich but to no avail. On another note, saw a stratus grey 650i in the showroom. Sick color. Never knew it did what it does in the different light and angles. Anyway, thx again for the responses.

All the best

When is you redelivery?

I'd recommend that you visit the Bimmerfest ED forum, as it has the most complete Euro Delivery info available.

redelivery would probably be 4 - 6 weeks after the eurodelivery? You're right about bimmerfest. Just giving the E60 community a try. Like it here much better.

You need at least 2-3 weeks notice for the EDtires rental.

In addition, since there are no guarantees with weather forecasts, if you are planning on driving the car and it is coming with summer tires, you need winter tires by law.

I knew you would chime in on this. Thx. Any idea of the cost? Also, who installs the winters and reinstalls the summers?

Most welcome.

You really need to go to the e.d. forum at the Fest.

The entire tire operation is the brainchild of a member, John Lance. His price is half of what BMW charged last year. He can answer your questions. His Web site is http://www.edwintertires.com

Sorry for the brain fart. I was asking when you planned on taking delivery (not redelivery). I was trying to determine your need to get snow tires.

I agree that e60.net is a great community for e60's, but ED experience is lacking.

I like it here also but you would be missing out on the wealth of info from dozens of active members at the E.D. forum. You don?t have to move to Bimmerfest, just visit the E.D. forum which operates in its own little universe.
