I'm helping a friend on his 650Ci ED for May. We've been told by two dealers that it will be an MY06. Are you sure that your friend has ordered an MY07?

So where are you guys getting the invoice pricing for MY07 5 series? I just go the retail pricing sheet from my CA today which shows about a 1.5% increase over MY06. I certainly want to know what the invoice numbers are before I place my order. My CA mentioned that the retail prices represent about a 7% over invoice.
The line he's running is that they had to drop the margins to 7% to maintain competitive with MB but have increased product content. Well they may have increased product content a little but they certainly increased the prices a lot.
I wasn't planning on taking ED but if it will make that big of a difference I guess my next stop is expedia for an airline ticket.

The 07 also allows you to delete the 6 CD changer but still get the Logic 7 radio. The 6 cd changer is a waste in my opinion if you have an ipod. The 07 also has the aux input included but was a $250 to $400 install job on the 06. Plus you are getting the next model year. All things considered, I think the 07 is a value over the 06.

My Ride: 2007 530i, build 03/06, European delivery 05/05/06, Mystic Blue Metallic, Beige Dakota leather and Poplar Grain wood trim. Options: Sport Package, Active Steering, Park Distance Control, Premium Package, and Cold Weather Package. Upgrades: BMW Ellipsoid (Styling 121) cast alloy wheels, AC Schnitzer Aerodynamics Kit, 3M Clear Bra, and RaceMesh Grill.
If retail is 7% over invoice for MY07 than the invoice pricing is considerably higher from the the previous year. Instead of a $700 base price increase for the 530i is really like a $1,400 increase.
