Well folks, I bought my terrific brand new 550i last month and you know what I forgot to do in the past year: join the goll-darned BMWCCA! Look at the number of these buggies that I have owned.
You would think that one of these times I would have remembered to join. Think of those rebates! Well I guess I am finally going to sign up, maybe even for a lifetime membership!
I'm pissed off, but still a happy guy. Don't let my mistake happen to the rest of you and when you collect those checks just think of me and chuckle a little.

Can someone expand on this? I have no clue about what you are talking about. Before posting this I did some research and went onto their website: http://www.bmwcca.org/MembershipRewards
What is this allowance they are talking about? Is this what 1600 is talking about? How much $$$ ?

Wow! Ricracing, your history goes back farther than mine!
Too bad you don't live in the States. That would have been a lot of rebate checks!

yeah.......used my membership to get $1000 back on my 07 550 last May.........seems like a no-brainer to me!! I was a member for less than 2 years and it saved me $1000 on my 550.......so, if you aren't a member....the questions is why not??

In addition to doing the smart thing and joining, you should also opt for the automatic renewal of your current membership (using a credit card) so that there's no accidental lapse in membership status. If any lapse occurs, you need to start the 1-year clock ticking all over again in order to get any rebates...

Right.....because we don't want to miss out on the rebates for our upgrades in 2010
