Hey Guys,

had a bollard related incident thats left 2 dents in my rear bumper... not massive but enough to bug me... so I am going to have a go a re-painting them.. not really done this kind of thing much so I was after any tips or hints? Have spoken to a painter who suggested heating it up to mold the dent back into position (only in 1 or 2 mm), then sand down to the primer, re-paint and polish... any tips tricks or advice?

heres the ding:

Looks like the bumper cover is deformed. There may be a need for some bondo to get the original shape back to what it was. Don't just take it to any bodyshop. Make sure you take it to a reputable shop with BMW experience.

Depending on how good you are with this kind of thing, my advice, would be to go to a shop to have it done. Heating up the plastics, and remoulding them with no experience is not a good idea IMO! Depends on how good you are though with this sort of thing! I know if it was me, I'd be heading straight down my local shop!
