I realise this is a mainly US site, but it seems many UK residents are around too.

I was wondering as to which London dealer do they use and can recommend on the basis of customer service, and being up to date with BMW (in terms of having the latest software and being aware of all the issues).

Thanks

I tried Hexagon highgate twice and was not very impressed. Any thoughts on BMW Park Lane (I believe they are owned & run by BMW direct) so maybe they are the most uptodate.

Hello,
You would think that. Park Lane are useless - They are completely arrogant. The tend to deal with foreign clientelle (diplomats etc). I have bought three BMW's and have taken quotes from them. They have ALWAYS come out the most expensive.

I have dealt with BMW Tunbridge Wells and BMW Stratstone - they have been quite good. I think it really depends on an individual at any given dealer. If the Sales Director is good it filters through.

Hope that helps.

G Many thanks for your prompt reply. Do you have any experience with their service department?

I should have been more specific in my post (my fault really), I am after the service department in any given dealer. I already bought my E60 530i M sport from Cooper Wimbeldon - they were good (Not excellent, just good) but they are too south for me to travel for service. I was looking for anyone who experienced the service department of Park Lane / westminister BMW, BMW Edgware road, H R Owen Chiswick, HR Owen Notting hill gate, Or any other dealers in London.

Thanks

Can't help you with a dealer in London.

But can recommend Sytner in High Wycombe.

Maybe worth a thought - dependiing where in London you are located.

I purchased my E60 from Cooper Wimbledon. The sales side is excellent and gave me a good deal.

HOWEVER!

The service department are very poor. The job is not always done and communication is almost non existent. They recently told me the work is nearly finished on one phone call and then say they haven't even started on the next call:'(

I will be trying the HR OWEN Service center off Scrubb's lane next time.

I use Hexagon in East Finchley, but the service department is just off Kentish Town Road so if you need to get a tube somewhere it is pretty easy walk.

So far the car has only been in for the recall a couple of months ago and they handled that fine, at present however they are fixing some body work after a crash and that seems to be dragging on, but it may not be their fault due to Christmas, parts etc. The only downside is loaner cars are only Fiesta's, Corsa's etc which is big step down.

Park Lane BMW are terrible for service and it's in a not very nice bit of Battersea/Wandsworth, nowhere to park and nowhere to go to wait.
Cooper Banstead are terrible for sales, service is OK.
Cooper Cobham are OK for both, but their building is being rebuilt so all a bit iffy until complete.
HR Owen near Heathrow were very good for a while-you-wait service.

So far all loaners have been Minis or 1-series (why????) with the exception of a 320D last time from Cooper Cobham. I never expect to get a nice car as a loaner in the UK as they give you staff cars rather than sales demonstrators. If I was a BMW dealer I'd always try to give one model up from the serviced car to try to get more sales uplift, but there you go.

NOOOO Stay away from HR Owen Heathrow - they are a bunch of twats!

Issue 1 - Washed my car through a carwash - left swirl marks all over it and scratched the alloys using an alloy wheel brush -when I went back they did not want to know!

Issue 2 - I work around the corner from them in Stockley Park and my companies security guard saw a HR owen driver drive my 535d like it was his dad's! My Guard asked me who was driving my car like a maniac and then I figured out it was them!

Issue 3 - Took car in as windows creaked and they said it was normal then took the car in to Specialist Cars BMW and they replaced my window seals without any hesitation.

ALL THIS HAPPENED ON THE SAME DAY

HR Owen are a total NO NO I would NEVER recmmend them to anyone not even my enemy!!!
