Sorry if I post in the wrong sections...
Hi all, I just want to share with you guys and please tell me if you have encounter something like this.

I called my closest dealer in my area for schedule a break inspection and maintenance for the coming saturday. I figure that's going to take at least 2-3 hrs, so I ask for a loaner car for the time being, but they refused my request because I didn't purchase my car from them.
Fine, I called up my dealer where I bought my car and try to schedule an appointment, even it's a little far. They also refused to give me a loaner car and their answer was: since it's going to be an hour and a half job (like they already know that's how long it will take and they're sure nothing else will be wrong while they inspect my vehicle), they basically "expect" me stay over for that couple hours.
Is that the right way how BMW allows their dealers to do? Do BMW have any control how they should service their customer? Or my request is too much? Does this ever happen to anybody? Please share your experience. Thanks!

This was posted on the wrong section, admins please move to Dealer, service, etc...

I believe that loaners policy is set by the dealerships and not by NA BMW. My experience with United dealerships has been great so far.

It all depends on the dealer.. .some are better than others... they have total right and control of whether to offer a loner or not... It's been a hit or miss with me... 75% of the time I get a loner no matter what car I took MINI or BMW and I didnt purchase the BMW at the same dealer as the MINI but I got a loner most of the time just because... so ya... its up to them. good luck.

I had never been denied a loaner, until recently. I have taken my car to different dealers many times in the past when I went off to college. I was 18 yrs old they always gave me a loaner with no thought.

BMW dealerships are becoming a pain in the ass.

It's really up to the individual dealer. Most of them don't charge but it wouldn't surprise me if some did...

It's here in U.S. southern California.

Thanks you all for the input, I guess I'm just expecting higher customer service from them and assume BMW will have a set standards for all the dealer that carries their name.
