Of the many things I love about this forum, it is the international presence of its members. I always learn something new or learn a new phrase from another culture. Chalk this one up to one of my favorites. I'm not sure what the exact translation is but I think I get it.

It's an old English saying which basicly means they will say anything to get rid of you

On a positive note!, I had my windscreen replaced under insurance ?50 excess a couple of months ago, by Autoglass. At that time the E60 windscreen was not made by anybody else, Autoglass actually buy the windscreen from BMW, 100% genuine part.

Spoke to BMW UK this morning and they are going to speak to the dealer themselfs and see what there findings are...
Though they did say that the screen probably wont be replaced and I quoted that people have had it replaced under warranty and his comments where that this is a seperate case I even cometed about people from here having the problem but was told that every possible fault has been reported on here

well just had a phone call from BMW UK and they have spoken to the dealer and concluded it wasn't due to stress fractures as stress fractures only happen in the first 30 days of car ownership
So will have to pay the excess on my insurance and get autoglass to fit it...

BMW in Cheltenham replaced my screen after almost a year (a few months ago) due to a stress fracture, so that 30 day statement by BMW seems to be a new way to avoid warranty replacements.

Just wondering if any of you that have had the stress fracture have noticed any rattles from the windshield before they broke? I have a three week old 550 and everytime I hit a minor bump (man hole cover, rail road track) i hear a major rattle that sounds like it's coming from the entire lower edge of the windshield.
