Hey Team..

I called my local dealer for an oil change.. first one since I had my E60 and they quoted me $260.00, something about a scope.

THEN.. I told them there are several issues that I wanted to have looked at under my CPO warranty and they said there is a $50.00 charge to fix all issues if you are under a CPO.

Is that normal?

Thanks,

CT

Read your CPO brochure and yes it is normal. If you have a good relationship with your SA he might waive the fee a few times.

Get your oil changed elsewhere, thats way too much money. Oil is Oil

I never paid for anything under extended warranty for my previous car (3 series).
5 series charges you for oil ? what happened to everything is free.

The CPO warranty only covers mechanical issues as far as i know. Maintenance such as oil are out of pocket after the first 4 years.

you can extend the maintenance also which is what I did, sorry I thought CPO meant your warranty and maintenance was extended.

You already were referred to your CPO Warranty to understand coverage and charges. The devil is in the details and you are the responsible party - DON'T EXPECT YOUR DEALER SA to educate. As for oil service, $260 is way out of line. My BMW dealer charges a lot less and publishes service and parts specials monthly.

I suppose the cost of living in California is high but NJ has the best politicians money can buy - NOTHING IS CHEAP HERE!

I think your dealer is scoping you ... DON'T BEND OVER!!

HAHAH!

Dealer is "SCOPING" me! TOO FUNNY!

I actually got some great info from forum member Rizbel who referred me to an independent BMW shop here in San Diego. Heres what they charge..

Oil Change - 80 Dollars
MicroFilters - 34 Dollars
Using E60.net to save hundreds of dollars... PRICELESS!

I ran into that today..There is a co-pay of 50 bucks if they repaired anything, as far as oil changes go if you didnt extend your maintence agreement your SOL.
