Just picked up my car this week and have yet to insert the key into the car! And I have to say it is a sweet little set up. The car has a sensor in every door handle, not just universal for the car. so you have to be next to that door for it to work. It's a lot more involved than I thought it was and now I can see why it's a $1k option. But it's definitely a love it or hate option. I personally love it.

I got my 06 525 early june before the CA was an option. The same build 3s had the CA as an option when they came out, looks like the e60s were just a touch behind on it (which confused me).

Called the dealer just last week and begged him to find some way to rig my car so I could get the CA but he says it's impossible.

I think is impossible to get CA retrofitted. So when they say impossible, there's every reason to believe so, not just the matter of $$.

Have comfort access on my 550. Love it! One "issue" though. I had the key fob in my pocket while washing the car and the car kept locking and unlocking when rinse water flowed over the door handles. I now wash the car with the key fob in the house!!

Ah! That's the unwanted feature. BMW should discount that feature to $700 now. Any other shortcomings?
