Feb 04 build - right hand side completely cracked , left hand side OK - plastic Hella.
Will ask dealer to replace and see if ECU can be reprogrammed as engine is hesitant when pulling away from rest.

Early March build (built alongside JDN's) and no cracks whatsoever on either one.

Just checked, The headlight replaced has the old bracket. Do you think BMw is still making them with the old brackets?

Based on what forum members have reported, it looks like production around the end of Feb or early Mar started using a different part that has not been reported as cracked yet.

zippers525, JDN has figured out around when the change over was made to the new part, but if you have had the enitre headlight assembly changed for some reason, it easily could have been made before the change and have bee sitting in someones parts dept. Just keep an eye on them and if they crack, it is an easy fix at the dealer.

February 25th production. Both cracked - passenger side completely through.

I thought the body shop did it when the bumper cover was removed for repair, but now I don't think so.

For those individuals that have had the brackets replaced....

How long did it take?

How do they do it? Do they need to take the whole headlight out?

Do they have to do a headlight alignment?

Thank you

Not sure how long it took to replace as my car was in for 2 days for bumper adjustment and minor paint job after someone reversed into the front of my car.

From what the technician told me it shouldn't take that long as its basically unscrewing the old and replacing with the new brackets. I believe there was a headlight adjustment carried out for both reasons of bumper removal and bracket change.

GotBMW, had mine done while in for the fuel line clip recall. Took just under 2 hrs. to do the recall, the headlight brackets and an oil and filter change (plus washing it when done!) I don't think they have to take the entire headlight unit out, but they did re-align my headlights when completed. Don't know if everyone will have theirs re-aligned or if it was because one bracket was completely broken through and you could move the unit by hand, thus it was likley a bit out of alingment just from the potholes and normal car vibration.
