My Ride: 525, Dec 2003, Silver Grey, Black Dakota Leather, Bluetooth, Satnav, 18'' Runflats, Sunroof, Folding mirrors, Automatic
This is an old one !!
Took mine in today for a number of things including these brackets broken ( Jan. 2004 ). Wanted to charge me for new ones

Wow I've never seen this thread... I dont think mine are cracked as I open the hood every time I wash the car to dry off the excess water and I would have caught it by now. But I do have a "newer" bracket I hope. redesigned perhaps... like posted... only pre 2004s affected?

My Ride: #1: 2004 545i; 6-speed manual; Sport Package; Mystic Blue with a gray leather interior and Anthracite wood; CWP; Logic 7.
#2: 2010 535xi Touring; Automatic.
I just check my 2004 545, build date late May 2004, and there is no sign of any cracking. But thanks a ton for the heads up.
Last week I got a fresh set of tires because this forum alerted me to the replacement bulletin on Dunlop runflats mounted in my car's build date range. I guess I was noticing some noise, but the bulletin alerted me to the chance to replace them for free. The dealer and BMWNA set me up, no questions asked.
This is a great forum. Totally the best way to get the most value out of our purchases.
