I was all set to order Orient Blue and then BMW replaced it with Monaco Blue which does not seem as dark or metallic as OB. IMO MB is one those colors that seems to change depending on ambient lighting conditions. When its bright and sunny out, MB looks almost black. When it's cloudy and overcast the blue seems lighter and maybe a little on the dull side. In my garage under fluorescent lighting it looks more like a medium blue. It does seem to attract and show a lot of dust. I went with the beige rather than auburn because it makes the interior brighter and I wanted to minimize the different colors on the doors/dash/floor board, etc.

Welcome and have fun deciding which combination to get.
Very very strange. When it is dark and cloudy out, most people think my Monaco Blue car is black. When it is sunny out, I receive compliments on the blue color left and right! I do agree that it changes depending on the lighting conditions however!

Personally, if I already had an Orient Blue car, I would go for the Mystic Blue with the M Aero Package - the car looks great in that color but only with that package IMHO.

Trying to choose a color - ordered Mystic Blue, but thinking of Black now. What is the difference between Sapphire Metallic and Jet Black? Monaco Blue looks good, but I presently have a 2001 Orient Blue 325 Convertible. Need something different. I want to go with the Beige Leather interior - any thoughts?

If you have time on your hands and like black cars go for it. Having owned two black cars I will never go there again. I personally have hardly anytime for car cleaning so I went with Silver Grey. Yes there are loads out there all over the world but Silver Grey IMHO is the one and only colour for the E60 followed closely by mystic blue.

I'm with Merv. I do like the metallic black, but maintaining it would be a nightmare. Best advice I ever had was that if you're a guy you should always let your wife choose or approve the color of your car - saved me from a couple of horrendous color pics and the current Mrs J has never let me down yet!

100% agree. I just wish they'd make E90 Arctic available on E60. Not to mention Lemon leather.

Too many shades of dark XXX. Silver is everywhere. Alpine White really stands out from the crowd. I am diggin' my AW 550.
My wife had a White 90 525. My favorite color but I just don't see it alot.

Apart from the pixs on this forum, I hadn't seen any Alpine White E60s when I ordered mine. Am seeing many more on the road now.

There's sthg about Alpine White that no other color can match
