Buying a used 550i, how's the reliability?

I'd be concerned about service history, and if it was "abused". Possibly you can examine for signs of abuse and neglect.

I WOULD NEVER BUY a BMW that was driven by a non-enthusiast. These cars are meant to be exercised, as long as you care for them and service them appropriately at BMW. Regardless, warrantys are very important on all BMWs and I have another 2.5 yrs + 55kmiles.
I drive fast, but never abuse my car. There is a great difference. Like, I would never buy a certain M5 from a certain Cahrmenian cause he doesn't know how to drive and the car will be screwed for life becuase of his lack of skills...
