but my 550i Sport was, unfortunately, the least reliable car I've ever owned by some margin... My particular 550i spent well over a month at the dealer during my first six months of ownership.

Also another question, how are leased cars typically treated? I have a service history of the car and see that it was a leased car and for some reason I only saw service records starting at about 27K miles.

Mine is an 04 with 71k miles and you guys are starting to scare me. My CPO ends 12/16/2009.
As far as E60s go, I would not want one outside of warranty. They are wonderful cars but cost a king's ransom to fix.

I just picked mine up, loving it like crazy, just make sure its under warranty and get all you need fixed at the dealer, then you should be good go for a while, as long as the electronics don't fail, the mechanics are pretty strong (in general) on these cars

You have a 530, not a 550, right?

If you must get one out of warranty, then make sure you know a good indy BMW mech/shop. So you don't get raped by the dealers on everything.

Sorry with all the questions but I got another one. If I get a CPO 550i, would I be able to mod it and still retain the warranty? Say I wanted some larger rims and a different exhaust, would my warranty still be intact if I did those mods? Or say I put in new HID fogs, I plan on putting 3300K HID fogs just like my current car because I really like the white headlights and yellow fogs look. And also what if I did some electronics mods on the inside of the car. I am pretty handy with electronic stuff and like to add a few things to the car.

Yes, to a degree, any item that you mod AND causes a problem will not be covered. Other than that you're good.

Just fine unless you have exhaust related issues. Rims don't void your warranty unless you go way out of scope - like say 22" or 24"

Not a problem, just get them from a reputable source and you can rest assured they won't be the cause of your issues (contact member brabusw209amg)
