If you don't mind, can you tell me your monthly payment?

My accountant says to Lease (better write-off for my Business ride).

My Wife says to Lease. This way she gets a break from hearing me talk about cars (getting a new one, driving another one, etc.) for the next 2.5 years or so.

I used to get something new every year or so. Although the 545 should keep me interested for the next couple of years, that's for sure.

Can't tell you the payment 'cuz if my wife evers discovers this board I'm DONE!

Pay cash - no monthly payments, no interest.

I agree with Wolverine. Pay cash. No interest, no monthly payments and the car is all mine to do with as I please.

Paid cash for my cars since the first one in 1949. All of that interest saved . . .

You go JDN. So far i'm following the same path however I do take out a small loan just to build up the credit profile and pay it off within a year or two.

In any event, how long do you usually keep your cars? Probably 5-7+ years right?

i'm actually in an interesting situation....i leased my car due to business car write off. but in almost 7 months i already have over 15k miles on it :'(
i wanted to only keep this car for 3 yrs and then get the new 545i with all the fixes and etc. but i might end up buying it after 3 yrs and selling it for a small profit to a private party
by the way i'm paying $950/month for a 545i, black saphire, sport package, cold weather pkg, rear sun shade, logic7, etc. etc....every option that i could get.
don't know if that is an excellent deal but seems right

Leasing also, the math works my way (also like a well known cost of ownership -- trading in is never pleasant, i.e. you never hear "well, we can offer you more than you expected" )

You can get a fully loaded 545 around here for around $800-850/month @15K/yr, 36 mo.

Thanks,
Dave
