Its rare for a dealer to ask if you are a CCA member. We gladly give the discount, but only if we know the person is a CCA member and we have their CCA member # on file. Normally we give 15-20% off.

Hi all,
I would like to thank everyone here for a very informative board that has saved me a lot of hassles and questions with my dealer. I read all of your posts with great enthusiam.
I have noticed in some of the posts where some of you are purchasing accessory items from the dealer (like mudflaps for example) , that you receive a BMWCCA discount. I have belonged to the club for over 3 years, primarily for the new car discount, which I was very happy to receive when I purchased my 530i. However, I really don't read Roundel too often....which is mainly due to the very opinionated and negative views of the editorial staff, and readers who write in about the new Bangle designs and technology. I appreciate classic cars, designs, etc... But it is my opinion that these people really need to move with the times. Sorry to go off on that there- but with that said, Am I missing something in regard to factory parts discounts because I haven't read the fine print in Roundel? My dealer certainly knows I belong to the club, yet I have purchased a few items since I bought the car(plus items for another BMW I own) that I have never been offered a special price on. Two of which were major- Nav. retrofitted for my E60, and a hardtop and installation kit (plus a $300 cradle/cart for it) for my roadster.
My main reason for bringing this up now is that I just placed an order with the dealer to purchase the Motorola (V60i- I think) phone and cradle and installation kit to be retrofitted to the E60. I forgot what the total price he quoted me was, but I do know it is a bit expensive. I expected this, but was desperate to get a phone hooked up to the car.? Does anyone know if I am entitled to a discount for at least the phone itself? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for your time.

I also suggest just as I try to use the same service advisor every time, getting to know ONE of the parts guys and asking for that same person every time helps. They start offering deals when you don't even ask for it...and offer freebees if they're really nice!
