My Ride: Just gone-520d m sport- Jet Black- Dakota Leather black- AluCube interior,
On order- F10 520d SE-Titanium Silver
BMW Ireland has repriced it's whole range. Eg- X5 xdrive30 down from e85k to e73k. Entry level 520d se down from e47k to 40k THE SAME PRICE AS A 320D se!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. The same 520 was e53k very recently before Irish vehicle registration tax was reformed which broughtb the price down to e47k. I paid e62k for my 520d msport in 2006. The new price for the LCI 520d M Sport is now e47k
Is this good or bad news? Bloody bad if you already have one of their products and can see your reslae value going down the tubes. Luckily i have no finance on my car however many existing e60 owners are going to find thenselves unable to trade up due to existing finance far exceeding vehicle value.
While the actual vehicle ownership experience is second to none BMW itself are just riding their existing customers sideways in terms of what their marketing is doing to residuals. I estimate my 2006 520d msport to be worth less than e20k. 33% of it's cost new 3.5 yrs ago.

I am surprised at what you had to pay for a 520d M Sport,in 2007 in the UK it was priced at about ?30,000 which I guess was approximately ?42,000,that is a massive ?20,000 less than what you paid!!!

You don't even want to know what we pay here in Australia for BMW vehicles. With $1 AUD = $0.93 USD, we still pay through the roof.

There does not seem to be any logic to the way BMW prices it's products.A few years ago the ? was worth about ?1.45, at the moment the ? is about ?1.1,therefore you would expect price increases of around 32% in the UK in the same few years! That has NOT happened.

June 2008 it was above 1.9 for a brief period, but I have a feeling this repricing is more about reduced gov't duties. The cable did improve relative to the USD lately though, so who knows why they are really doing this - maybe to shift sales volumes due to lack thereof somewhere else.

it seems to me BMW r clearing their old stock to prepare to mass-sell their F10s sooner than u think.
some members said certain area dealers (i think in Germany) are collecting orders for F10.
so not surprise they are re-pricing old models.
