In Egypt my 520i costed me $81,700, and that is low because it is locally assembled. If it was imported from Germany it would cost around $170,000. That is really unfair .

Hi guys,
I am so surprised about the different prices of bmw's and cars in general around the world. I live in Holland and here the cars are very expensive. We pay a lot of taxes even we are neighbour of Germany where the BMW's come from.
For example, the new M5 without any additional options costs here 133k euro's, converted that means 178k us dollars. I suppose that is a lot more than in the US, isnt it.
My car, a 525i touring, full option cost me 82k euro's, so 110k dollars
I would love to compare some prices of bmw's around the world, for start lets take the M5.
Regards,
Hello People,
I'm new to the group and I am a Texan living in Istanbul.
I just got these prices off the Turkish BMW site.
M5 - 181.092 Euros (Base Price)
M6 - 220.174 Euros
520d- 79.458 Euros The 520d price is the quote I got from the dealer. I plan on ordering one soon.
The tax breakdown is 34.500 for the car + 7.243 accessories multiplied by %60 Luxury tax. That
total is multiplied by %18 VAT (tax of a tax) and various small local taxes. The %60 is for cars with less than 2000cc engines. If above, the rate is %86. So basically when buying an X5 you buy one for yourself and 1.2 for the government. That sure sucks now don't it.

My Ride: - '07 Bmw 530i - Titanium silver, Balck Interior, Fully loaded & M Sports package - '02 Benz S600- Navy blue with Grey interior, short wheel base & fully loaded

Egypt:

530i fully loaded with sports package - $125,000
525i fully loaded - $96,000
523 fully loaded - $87,000

740il fully loaded - $175,000

All of the above are assembled in Egypt to avoid even higher prices as high displacement engines have up to 300% import tax!

Incredible Holland and Turkia ... here in Italy a good 550i costs 90k euros and a good M5 100k euros .
But on 550i you have to calculate a discount of 8% .
M5 about 6% .
Thus the real prices are 80-85k for 550i and 90-95k for M5 .

My 545i, in July, was 83.5k (almost full optional but without Mpack) and 75k euros discounted .

Bye!

Is there any tax in Monaco? How much does an e60 cost there?
Also, i don't think there is any tax in the oil rich middle east. I may be wrong.
Nothing! the price is without any tax...

You have to also consider that those taxes go to pay for universal health care, and the cost of buying a home in Holland is probably considerably cheaper than it is in major US cities.

Just to throw in my $0.02 worth to the general bitching. My 530d was $102,000 when new. I pay 40% income tax. For that I get practically no motorways, crap crowded regular roads, no decent public transport, no health care in whose hands I would dare to put my body, my kids are in private schools, I pay a private security company to monitor my house and my country doesn't even have a half decent army if it would ever need to defend itself against a manic dictator neighbour.

At least real estate prices are still OK here.

One thing I haven't figured out is why there is such a large number of relatively cheap new E60 parts available on the Polish ebay equivalent. http://www.allegro.pl/search.php?str...0&category=620 For example a complete unpainted M-Sport kit is 1000 Euro.

The prices on the site are roughly divide by 3 for USD and by 4 for Euro.

Not to be offensive, but really, you don't know why "parts" are cheap in Poland ??

No I do not. Maybe you should visit, talk to some of my Dutch friends who have moved here or some Dutch guys who regularly drive to Poland for our MX-5 rallies and while here leave their cars top down in the street, rather than base your opinion on the crap German tabloids are feeding their readers.

Does this look like it came off a parked car in the middle of the night?
