Is there any tax in Monaco? How much does an e60 cost there?
Also, i don't think there is any tax in the oil rich middle east. I may be wrong.

The US has the lowest prices, but we're still pissed because we never get any of the good stuff:
BMW Individual
Real M5 Launch Control
E60 M Sport Models
TV
more colors
etc.

Paid just below $50,000 for my 2006 530i. BMW Military Sales saves us some money for those of us who are eligible.

Enjoy!

Thats true. The cars for the US markets seem pretty undressed to me. But hey, for half the price i dont mind walking in my underwear.

That is why I'm a big supporter of the "buy slightly used" or as folks in US say "pre-owned" idea - I got my 04' 530i w/options listed below for $39K with only 9K miles on odometer last December - virtually brand new.

That's the reason why i'm buying all my upgrade parts directly imported from Germany.
About half the price compared to BMW Greece. (Vat included)

Exclamation

a brand new 530 in from the dealership in Kuwait would cost about 17,000 Kuwaiti Dinars (about $56k, 1KD=$3.3)
M5 as i remember would cost about 42000KD ($138K)
and our gov. only takes 4% tax on cars (you dont pay any taxes as a end user)

as for other model line ups. the dealer only imports it a certan set of options (eg. 520i: comes optionless, very basic, no Nav, no xenon, no PDC, no sunroof, manual seats) for about $12000 less comparing to the 530
525i: only comes with buss. nav. no seat heating/cooling and semi automatic seats. for $6000 less than the 530i.
the 530i: comes with almost every option, except for the comfort seats, i believe they dont bring it to differentiate the 7 series)
but i think you can custom order the car although im sure it would cost a considerable amount of money extra

on the other hand, some auto traders bring them straight from germany for about $6k less than the dealer (for the 530)

i believe prices could go a bit lower, but because kuwait has only one authorized BMW dealer, there's no competetion and thus prices are kinda high!

im really shocked to hear about the prices in singapore !! for that price i could buy the next 3 generations of the 5er and still have some extra to live on (the power of compound intrest )

What is the auto sales tax in Singapore??
The vehicle tax structure can appear complicated.

Briefly, you pay about 130% of the import value of the car as vehicle tax.

On top of that, you also pay for a "licence" to own the car, which is also a form of indirect ownership tax. You must bid for the "licence" and the fee fluctuates based on market demand and supply. You actually bid for it electronically (like an auction). "Licence" lasts for 10 years duration only. Purpose is to control vehicle population as well as to raise revenue.

Our direct income taxes are acceptable (about 20% for top bracket). The flipside is high indirect taxes if you want to indulge in 'luxury' cars.

Cheers,
