According to this article BMW plans to introduce its Individual program to the U.S. Finally.

Quote from article:

The Individual program, now offered across BMW's full model range in Europe and Asia, is coming to the States, too. Exactly when will depend on negotiations with U.S. dealers. "In Europe and Asia, people are prepared to wait four to six weeks for the personalized car they want," explains L?cker, M's regional sales manager for Europe, "but in the U.S., customers expect to drive it from the showroom straightaway."

It's about time we had the Individual Program.
This can help to further differentiate ones car from all the others, but I wonder at what cost? We'll have to wait and see.

I believe the cost will be very high. In europe you pay an extra $2,500.00 just for an "Individual" paint selection. I sure like those interior trim options and the BMW Individual steering wheel. Maybe in my next BMW!

Yes ... it's about time. I'm sure enthusiasts such as members of this forum, will take advantage of it someday.

I certainly would have paid extra to have Carbon Black (in fact, I asked and was quicly told NO ). And probably for a unique interior color too - I like the Truffle Brown scheme (which we cannot get in the US) with its splash of black interior trim pieces.
