It has been 8 weeks since I dropped off my Euro Delievery 545 in Munich and I still cannot get a straight answer as to when it will arrive. According to a letter from the dealer it was supposed to be here on August 16. The dealer, Motor Werks of Barrington, Illinois, cannot get an answer from BMW Vehicle Preparation Center. BMW Customer Service cannot get an answer from the Vehicle Preparation Center. Meanwhile I am paying substantial lease payments. What a bunch of bullsh1t!!!!!!!!! Why can't I get a straight answer from BMW or the dealer??????????? As a business owner, I can understand that problems ocassionally happen. Good communication is critical to maintaining the client relationship. BMW's communication skills are dismal. BMW's official policy on communication must be "be evasive and never provide objective information when asked a legitimate reasonable question by a customer". BMW's Customer Service Department should be disbanded.

Time to have your lawyer contact BMW and cancel your contract.

Before you decide to litigate, atleast go and talk to the manager of your dealership. I was specifically told that if my car took longer than 8 weeks for Euro delivery they would get me a loaner. A 7 series seems like a fair trade for the frustration and lack of customer service so far delivered. If your dealer is unresponsive then call BMW NA next. If you still do not get anywhere then get an attorney involved.

The dealer should be able to speak to the VPC port manager and get an answer. BMW NA doesn't seem to be able to speak to the VPC from my experiance, only the dealer.

Did you sign onto 'My BMW Experience' board to track your car? What does it say the status is? Unfortunately, the website is several days behind, but you can get some idea. The dealer is giving you BS. This might help also:

E H Harms has an office in Elizabeth NJ. Call them at 973 353 1600 and ask the for the trace website.
It worked for me when I got mine in March; they told me the name of the vessel and I was able to track it all the way across.

Good luck!

Pharding, I had a similar problem (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e63/5617296-1.html) and simply called the Harms folks that I left to ship the car, and they were able to give me status very quickly (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/e63/5620333-1.html)

My car will take around 10 weeks to arrive:
9 August drop off Paris (Harms)
29 August ship left Belgium
25 August ship expected to arrive port in California
VPC + ground transport

My understanding is that the BMW delivery status is not being updated with transportation info, so cars just show up. Not very German. ;-)
