Beware New 2008 535 Stolen By BMW Roadside Assistance
#21
LAX535 flogged this long-dead horse over on Bimmerfest for a while (11/17-11/19)...now has brought it over here to E60.net (which he joined today). OK...enough. Please, take the insurance settlement, buy a new car of some kind, and move on...please?
G man - you just dont get it do you --- this is still very much an ongoing issue. Obviously its relevant because you too are on both boards
Guys like you make me sick, its all fun and games till something like this happens to you ................................ I hope that next time you break down United towing is right around the corner.
FYI there is not a manual transmission 535 to be had in the whole country.
I guess I will be getting that Cayman S after all.

lax535 I am glad that you posted this here because I do not normally read the other 5er message board. BMW Assist is a feature that we paid for so it is well that you generated some discussion here. Thank you.

Even if your car goes to a BMW dealer after an accident, you can still get abused. My car was in an accident in Decatur, Indiana on May 15, 2007. BMW Assist towed it to the only BMW dealer in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It sat there for a couple of days. Then it was towed to a local Fort Wayne body shop. It sat in their yard for two weeks before they concluded that they did not feel comfortable working on a BMW with that type of damage. Thank you BMW Assist !!!!
I would think that BMW Assist did exactly what they were supposed to do, have your car towed to the nearest BMW dealer, but the dealer didn't follow through once they sent it over to their preferred body body shop...seems the dealer is to blame in your case - not BMW Assist?

Just to be clear the car was never towed to a BMW Dealer. Nor is that the Body shop of a dealer. It is owned and operated by the toeing company.

Notice the towing company logo on the website.
