I use Flemington and been very happy with them, I was not impressed by Hunterdon though. I also been to JMK and they treated me well, no complaints there.

Where did you purchase the car, and if your not using the samer dealer where you purchased do they give you a loaner?

Where someone buys the car and where it service it, it shouldnt matter (although it does initially) according to BMW standards. Also, my issue is not getting a loaner but rather get the dealer being able to fix what the car is in for.

Any thoughts on Essex BMW? I just bought MY07 530xi from there this weekend. The transaction was seamless but haven't had service experience yet.

Congrats on the 530xi.

Essex BMW has given me and my family superior support over 4 BMWs. It helps to have a good relationship with your Sales Advisor as he can smooth the way if the service department does not get it "right".

Transactions have always been red carpet and no hassle in both sales and service. Bob W is a great Sales Advisor, Bernard and Tom C are great Service Advisors.

Bell was not very helpful. This one is from Prestige. We will see.
I have had excellent service through Paul Giaquinto at Hassel in Freeport, NY, but their unhelpful salespeople did not have a 550i when I was shopping.

Hi,

What are your experiences with NJ dealers when it comes to service your E60? Who really knows the E60 and how much they care/be able to fix problems.

Thanks
I have purchased new BMWs from Paul Miller and Essex. I was much happier with Essex in the sales department, and a bit more pleased with Essex in the service department. With Paul Miller's service dept, I felt I had to be a little more cautious with service they said I needed once I was out of full maintenance. I felt like they were always trying to talk me into additional service for things they said were 'just about' to go (e.g., there was a window which they insisted would leak 'in the next small rain storm' if I didn't have a $250 part put in), which I never had serviced because I didn't believe them, and which hasn't leaked in nearly 2 years now. It kind of pissed me off. As for sales, I think the sales staff at Essex is absolute top notch. As for JMK, I bought a Saab through their Saab dealer (on-site), and both the car and the service were pitiful. That was 9 years ago, and, again, it was Saab, not BMW. I would buy from Essex.

I'm glad to hear good things about Essex. I might give Hassel a try for service when the time comes since it's much closer. I'm very close to Bayside BMW's service center, anyone have any experience with them?

I went to DiFeo for my first BMW, which was an easy internet order, but they're a bit far so I went to Denville for the last three BMWs. I had a salesperson that I liked - Dave Elliott - but with the changeover in ownership from Gearhart to Open Road, it seems to have gone down the tubes. They let Dave go (or he quit) and I have some new guy Richard who knows far less than I do about what's coming w/ the 2008 5er's and overall about BMWs... he never calls back or follow-up on information seeking like he's supposed to.. I have a lease ending in a month (a little less, actually) and I'm still waiting for him to get on the ball about the 2008 5ers... I am getting one and my friend is a new customer and is getting one and you'd think he'd move with some urgency... not at all. Disgusting. Worse, he made me give him $500 (for each car) to hold allocation - even though I told him I think the 2008 535 w/ stick will be delayed - and he had me come in on a Saturday (I have been working long hours lately so during the week is out) and he still hadn't found out what he was supposed to, but he refused my friend a test drive of the 530 and 335 (he's deciding between the 5er and the 3er) because he was busy and wanted to sell more cars. He actually told us that. I'm livid.

Denville stinks. Then they call today - I just missed the call (phone was in a weird place!) and I tried calling right back and their phone system is screwed up.. saying they're closed (they aren't) and the forward to the message mailbox doesn't pick up... nor does the operator...

I'm so pissed off right now I want to scream.

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP NOW. They are not the same dealership. Their management changes like restaurant specials, their staff doesn't care about the marque and no longer seeks to satisfy enthusiasts... just soccer moms and 325 leasees.
