looking for a good indie shop to work on my 545i in the vilseck, amberg, or nürnberg, fürth or erlangen areas

Depends on what you are trying to get done.

There used to be a Military/Diplomat BMW sales office in Vilseck (Rose Barracks???). If they are still there you can ask them.

im just looking for a shop for general service that is familiar with BMW and has the equipment and computers to properly service one. my car needs a service check and is running a little rough so i want it looked at. the BMW military sales is still there outside of Rose Barracks. i can try asking there, but im guessing all their vehicles are dealer serviced.

Their new vehicles are but they also know some local indy shops. Another good source would be the Auto Hobby shop. I'm pretty sure you could find a good reference from them.
