I am trying to get my dealer to budge on a 545. He will sell me the demo - not exactly what I want for $3000 under MSRP. It has 2K miles and is a daily driver for the sales manager - doubt it had the proper engine break in period. He will offer me $500 under MSRP for an order (allocated ) car. Have yet to shop for quotes over the internet. Anyone have a better way?

The only way is to go to a number of dealers. In my area there four dealers within one half hour of each other. Keep in mind that the service intervals are about one year apart, so traveling an hour or more might be worth it for a big discount. My area discounts were $500, $1500, $2000 and $2500. Go to the dealer that you prefer last and use the other offers to help negotiate.

Hmmm. In which country is qmartin looking for a car? Anyway, if it's US, head over to bimmerfest.com, forums, ask-a-dealer. TedW and 2 or 3 others that post there are very helpful and depending on where one lives, they can be a big help. Good luck.

I was able to get the dealer to sell me my 545 (it was ordered and not on the lot) for a couple of thousand dollars below MSRP. They also lowered the money factor on the lease a little bit. I was able to get this better deal because I was able to have 2 dealers who are within 30 minutes of each other compete for my business.

Some people got good price but bad interest rate. At the end, it's the same.
