adding IPOD interface in Ottawa

My Ride: BMW 530ix

called one of the 2 dealers in Ottawa and was told upfront that the installation cost of the interface + reprogramming would run me in the $800+. I say that is crazy. I have an 06 with no Nav ,pre-wired CDC (but no CDC) and single CD (which does not read MP3). Has anybody explored any other option?

mp3 coding is not covered via bulletin if you don't have NAV. so you'll have to pay for that either way. usually around 200-300US and the interface itself is around 280US
