Since the front end of my car needs to be replaced anyway, I was going to get the M Aerodynamic kit installed. I emailed BMW FS to make sure that this is ok and here is their reply.... just FYI
So the M kit is out for me. I certainly do not intend to buy the car out at lease end having $30K worth of repairs.

"Unfortunately, the vehicle does have to be returned to its
original state. If your vehicle is returned with the M Aerodynamic
kit installed, excess wear and tear charges will be charged on the
maturity bill to remove the kit and restore the vehicle to its
original state. We hope this information is helpful."

I have been told by several people who should know that such upgrades using BMW parts are not a problem at least end.

I would try again, perhaps with a supervisor or asking your dealer to enquire.

I think that it all depends upon whether you will be leasing another BMW. If you bought the car at the same dealership you are going to lease your next one from then they will buy the car and decide whether to CPO or wholesale it. Since the car won't be sent back to BMW NA they really don't care what you've done to it. If you are going to a different dealer or are going to buy a different brand you would probably have a problem. Another thing to consider is having the M kit removed prior to turning the car back in. It would only cost you for labor which I think you could easily recoup by selling the kit either here or on eBay. Just a thought.

Not true as he would have to purchase the non M kit, have it painted and installed, etc.

Huh?? He would just take off the M kit and replace it with the original parts that came on the car.

I think the original part was destroyed which necessitated the inquiry to BMWFS about the M appearance package.

Yes but the standard front bumper is only around $500 so it would still be well worth it. That is unless of course there is more damage to the car.

Exactly... since I do not have the original front end, I would have to purchase and then re-install and.... $$$
Not worth it.

You could always trade somebody with the same color for their front bumper plus cash for the Mtech. If we had the same color of car, I would give you my oem bumper plus cash for the MTech. Thus, it could still work out in the end to be a plus for you.
