2004 545i SE 58K no modifications

Motor is super smooth
up to date service record
economy is very very good 33mpg @70mph 23mpg urban

the car is so quiet I can hear an annoying tick tick tick that is RPM and engine load related on mild acceleration

it is not valves as a screwdriver in the ear on the rocker covers has no noise at all

As it is load related I am assuming I have noisy injectors. A local BMW salesman said that early 4.4 litre V8's did have some faulty injectors but the sysmptom was a rough running engine

Anyone able to hear their injectors like this, it is there 9 drives out of 10

I am thinking to run some injector cleaner but am not sure if it is worth it bearing in mind the economy I am getting already, with the hood up and an ear next to the engine there is no obvious one noisy injector

I am having the exact same problem, has been to the dealer twice and they keep saying they cannot figure it out.
They blame it on the valvetronic engines saying they are noisy but i know its BS,
I am planning to clean the MAF and then use seafoam in the fuel this weekend.
