My Ride: BMW 545iA Black Sapphire
Model Year: 2005

Good evening to all E60 buddies!!

( don't want to read? slide down to the pics... )

Well, back from our mid-west south USA vacation, where despite the slight run-around from hurricane IVAN we had an excellent time. City tours, food and shopping was all great fun - not to mention the highlight of meeting a fellow BMW
e60 member - Jim ( aka JDN ) - thanks again for everything Jim...!

Well down to business. First of all let me clear up to some members, with regard to earlier postings that I live and work in The Netherlands. My 545i is delivered to that country and the specifications are a simple 545iA with all the options you can see from my signature as individual options and not part of some "packages".... hope that clears up any ambiguous thoughts...

My first impression when I saw the car was " DAAAAMMMMNNNN!!!!!" this looks good... still can't believe it really - after a 318i and a 328i this is the top for me. ( Yes, I do believe that there is an "good enough" in life ) ....anyway, had a
quick run around to make sure all options were present and had a go at the HUD
which I had only seen once before from JDN's 545i SMG. Obviously, i-drive was
a walk in the park - since I have learned the manual by heart...hehehe the salesman was impressed.. slid up the brightness ( offset ) to max and ckecked
for correct orientation. Looked good.
Interior, steering wheel, seats looked good. Noticed up close the wood at the lower
part of the dashboard ( MY2005 specs ) - but could not see any difference/shine from around the drivers window buttons...hmmm...I think that's what to look for..
Wood as well at the rear passengers..( no rear seat heating BTW )

In the boot was a small elevated compartment box on the left hand side - no cover, just a box for small items. Forgot to take a pic of that.. but going back
tomorrow...

The velour mats had a cheap look to them..even the colour was slightly off- I mean it's black, but the quality is surely not that found in the mats in my E46 328i. More plush and luxurious in the 328i, these were thin and the seaming was not perfectly round...hmmm we'll see.....small point until now.

Further options include the wooden gear selector, winter rims/tyres, bluetooth adapter, rubber mats and rubber inlay for the boot. Will get those soon..

I expect to have the car in 2 weeks... enjoy the pics...

Andy,

PS. The dealer threw in the DVD Map 2004-2 , could hardly believe it !!!
( yes...normally you pay for it 310 euros!!! )
