I bought an '06 about 2 weeks ago and there was about $170 month difference in the lease price between that and an '07. I thought that for me to spend that kind of money every month for a sport steering wheel and comfort seats was just silly. The discount was slightly higher and the money factor was lower.

Nice! i noticed you are in Northern NJ also. which dealer did you use? i assume you are paying about $750/mo? any down payment?

thanks.

I also went with a 2006. I got the car for roughly $800 over invoice.

That's a very good deal with $800 over invoice.

Iceman316,

Did you get your car locally or through ED? I am having hard time finding a SMG locally (in SoCal).

here in Denmark it is possible to get near 20% discount if you purchase your car at an unathorized dealer... the cool thing is that with rules about authorization here in EU it is almost without no problems doing this... At the local they have a 530i nearly fully loaded, with a discount of 20.000 dollars... one thing to remember is, that a 530 thirty in denmark costs nearly 180.000 dollars due to the extrem tax... so this is why some dealers have these discounts...

You are going to find it near impossible to find any e60 model with SMG at any dealership in SoCal. Most SMG cars are ordered by the dealer for a buyer. If you can find one in SoCal to purchase and not a demo car consider yourself real lucky.

In reading over a fews of iceman316's posts, I believe he ordered the car via the dealership but did not opt of the European Delivery(ED), but he still agonized, like those that did ED, waiting for it to arrive.

To say that Iceman316 agonized while waiting to take delivery is a HUGE understatement......I think he had to enroll in a 12-step program just to get through the waiting period.......and he STILL owes me beer for helping him through his hard times........are 'ya listening out there Bing??

Looks like Iceman316 aka Bing has been quiet lately... Not like him. He's usually just as bad a post whore as me.
