Changes are only from September production, so delivery only after september for most markets outside europe

I went through the same question last month, but decided the changes were too minimal to wait until nov-dec to take delivery. I ordered my 525i last month and I am picking up my E60 next month at the PCD. Can't wait!

Depending where you are the changes can take as long as Oct to Nov to reach dealers... you wont see any changes in August. Plus one thing to consider... there will be a price increase in Sept. thats how it was in the past... Yes I know EVEN if its still a 2006.

No its not "for sure" but history seems to show that there is in september. Anyone else have some more info and know for sure?

SD! COOL! Where at? I lived in SD for 5 odd years... went to school at UCSD. I miss that place now.

Might see you at the E60 Drive? THEN DONT WAIT JUST GET IT NOW!

There will always be changes coming. I can see waiting for better rates, but if you wait til there are no changes, you will never get the car. Just my two cents.

If the 06 525 isn't available until Aug/September, how is it that this dealer http://www.smbmw.com/new.php?sortpref=pric...chcriteria=525i
and others are listing 2006 as in stock?

Let's try this again. In the US BMW decided to start the 2006 model year to coincide with the introduction of the new engines in the 530 and 525. Since the 550 won?t be out until fall as a 2006, BMW has continued the 2005 545 until the traditional end of the model year in Aug/Sept/Oct time frame.

In Europe the model year does not necessarily coincide with the way BMW designates the model year in the US. In fact in some Euro markets unlike the US, Euro customers actually look at both the month and year the vehicle is sold to determine how old the vehicle is. Under those circumstances unless a significant model change (e39 to E60) takes place the end of a model year, it does not have the same financial impact as in US.

BMW for as long as I can remember makes changes in vehicle content through out the year. In this case while I don?t know all the features that will be available or different on fall production 2006 525 and 530i, a few of those will include a push to start button and optional keyless entry. Others on this board may know others.

I sure a hell would not wait until October (its Sept production) to buy a 2006 because of a few feature changes unless I really wanted these features.

I agree with Bimmer06530i's comment but if the 06 features is what you really want then it may be worth waiting, otherwise just get what you want now and I don't think you will ever regret it. Again it is an E60!
