My Ride: [i][b][u]Since 19 august 2004[/u][/b][/i]: [color=red][b]530i[/b] High Executive[/color], Silvergray with beige interior, Popular wood, Servotronic, Sportssuspension, electric foldable and dimmed mirrors, dimmed interior mirror, pappelmaser braun wood, cupholders, styling 123 18" wheels, Logic 7, Steptronic, alarm class 3, electric sunscreen in the rear and suncreens for sidewindows, Comfort seats, heated seats, Xenon with headlightwashers, Adaptive corner lights ALC, Advanced airconditioning, lightpackage, Nav Pro, 6 cd changer, side airbags rearseats, bluetooth siemens S55, chrome kidneys, gearlever with wood, voice recognition retrofit, front windshield with green band.

2004 525i 16 standards
2005 525i 17 standard (still not in showrooms arriving in 6 weeks)
At this point you can pick up a 2004 530i for what you wil pay for a 525i with similar options in six weeks....

Anybody know wich type of 17 inch rim will become standard??

The base 2005 525 will have the same rim as the base 2004 530 did, so will the 2005 530. This is here in the USA now... I don't know if it's changed anywhere else. That goodness too.. the old base 525 rim was horrible. Size wise and design wise.

Great info for new US buyers.. The base 16 inch rims indeed look like crap..

My 2004 525i came with standard 16" wheels. I thought about getting an optional 17" (122 or 134), but then decided not to, just too much money for an extra inch even though they look cool. Few months ago I had to take my car to service and they gave me 2004 530i loaner that had 17" with low profile tires. The ride was very different from standard 16", I could feel every bump on the road.
