Well obviously I havent driven the new engined 2.0d either, all I can say is the tax savings alone made it worth the wait, ?55 per month over the entire lease period. Send me a PM will let you know about the mirrors, I was going to order Silver as well, was convinced by all around me at the last minute to change to Space Grey, will be interesting to see if I regret the change of colour choice!

I too was going down the silver route, then I decided to go for Deep Sea Blue. Come the day to order I decided on Space Grey. Choices Choices

The Space Grey cars I have seen look very clean and look like they will not show up any light scratches or dirt. Less time washing, more time driving!!

Not to add insult to injury, but the break-in period will be another agonizing milestone to get through. But at least you'll have your ride Good Luck!

Dear 525d MSport and idgam,

Seems that you'll will receive MY '07 cars, not the MY '08's?

ro11dice,

After speccing Space Grey, you should have specced Sun Protection Glass also, it seems to make the car look much better for some reason in this colour or black!

Here in the UK 2008 does not happen for 3 months and the motor industry does not refer to a model year other than as per the current year. i.e. 2007 models are built in 2007.

My car will be to the latest spec i.e. LCI. Over here, the LCI were from build dates of March onwards.

If you are not talking LCI, what are the differences between 2007/2008?

Obviously this can make differentiating between versions a bit more difficult so I can see the sense in the model year designation. We just don't do it!

Regards,

sti vi,

I'm not quite sure I follow you. I'd don't think we have Sun Protection Glass as an option over on this side of the pond. What is it? BTW, I have a pre-LCI, my color is Silver Grey and not Space Grey.

As for the 525d the wishpalsh headrests is the mayor point to the 08 MY (for those who know).
For the SE also new tyres.

As for the 520d - everything. Engine, gearbox... EfficientDynamics!

But still, in UK you go with the EU (BMW) MY's, that changes in Sept.
The right hand drive cars are only a bit late.

(I know your license plate habbit and that the big changes have happened in March for the US MY).

BMW develop their cars all the time, but US MY (March) and the EU MY changes are the most
important keypoints.

By reading e60.net you'll be aware of it all!

Hi, Thanks for that.

Yes I see what you are saying and on the UK website, whiplash headrests are now listed.

At least they haven't added visibility pack for no cost! Prices have gone up however by a small amount - to pay for the headrests no doubt.

Of course the 520d updated engine is well known.

It is however not UK practice (IMO) to refer to model years. Frankly it would make sense to do so though!

Regards,
