Hmm.. I haven't been following this thread too closely but it seems like:

XX03 = bad
XX04 = ok

So I went to check my replacement tires and:

Front: both 4604
Rear: one is 0104 and the other 0604

Those early week 04 build rear tires now seem to worry me... Hmm..

Well I talked to my salesman that day I got my car back and he said to f*ck it basically. If they make noise again, bmw will replace them again.

That's kind of what I'm assuming. The precedent is set. If my tires roar again, I'll complain again. What will be different that would cause BMW to not do the same thing and replace them?

My XX04 are Not ok. (Although they are 1004 so I'd say that's early 04).
Still waiting to hear from my SA as to any response from BMW.

Had runflats replaced after 9,000 miles BMW covered 100% of the cost after Puma case was open. I complained about tire noise and uneven wear.

I notice the date stamped....fronts are 0205, rears are 0405.

I was told these were the new version by Dunlop. (Noticeable improvements)

My originals both had 1704 stamped on the tires

Olivin530i.

I just brought my car to the dealership and they are opening a PUMA case for me.
Thanks for the tips and I would like to thank everyone else in this forum for sharing there experiences and of course saving me money.

I will let everyone now when work is complete.

The wear pattern appears to be more on the inner than the outer, but the rears appear that they are wearing evenly.? Noise started around 10,000 now I have about 16,000 and now has gotten much worse.? It is unbearable if the radio is not turned.

GP545iSport,

If your fronts are visibly wearing more on the inside and they are XX03, then it's exactly why I got new tires!

Your rears are XX04 and are lightly to wear evenly.

A couple of E60 owners here have XX03s on their rears and they wear pretty evenly - theirs are on staggered configuration though, 275R18 rears and 245R18 fronts on style 124s - and that leaves me wondering if mine could be a camber issue??

Good News!!! I got a call from my SA, they replaced all of my tires free of charge. They are replacing them with the new and improved Dunlop RF. We will see if they start making noise again.
