My dealer just replaced my noisy, 21k-mile-old Dunlop runflat tires with
4 brand new (and quiet, of course) ones: 100% covered by BMWNA.

All I did was complaining to my SAs and showed them e60 forum discussions.
My dealer measured, test drove and reported a PUMA case.
BMW agreed to take the bill in 2 days.

I'd like to thank all you folks who contributed to this topic in this forum. It's
a great forum worth all our supports.

The question remains, like everyone likes to know, how many miles
can we drive on these new Dunlop before we hear the terrible road noise
again?

I've got about 3,500 miles on my original tires, and no complaints.

khl,

It sounds like you got the same tires again??? Mine are making noise at only 8k miles and my dealer said they were submitting a PUMA even without my asking. The dealer I go to now is really fantastic. They are a real pleasure to work with and really top notch.

The last dealer I went to was always arguing with me on every visit as if they hated customers. They called me once to yell at me for not rating them as perfect when BMWNA called for a review of their work.

Apparently there is a BMW technical bulletin that Dunlop RFTs manufactured in Yr03 (identified by looking for the DOT nnnnnnnn XX03) be changed covered 100% by respective BMW reps/dealers. (XX - week of year manufactured??)

I had mine changed. Old (15k miles) noisy Dunlop had DOT nnnnnnnnn XX03 while the new set (100% covered by dealer) had XX04 marking.

Could you guys post your /markings/findings.

Guys I have a question.

I've got the Dunlop runflats with 7500 miles. I'm not sure if mine have yet to fail. The ride is a little harsh but not sure if that is just the nature of the tires or what.

What are the telltale signs i should start watching out for? How would you describe the tire noise? Or should i just start the process now and complain of noise?
