Thanks, everyone, for the quick replies! I meant over wholesale invoice, not MSRP. But, see a new thread on a group buy!

If you're in doubt, contact Autobytel and see what they can do.? And it's wholesale that you want to be over, not invoice.

How do you find out the 'wholesale' price?? I've found the 'invoice' price on this and other forums and am ready to sign a deal that is $1000 over 'invoice', which was the best I found in negotiating with 5 dealers.

What is the 'wholesale' price and where can you find it??

When you hear people talk about it here, wholesale and invoice price are usually the same thing. $1000 over invoice is a great deal.

The dealer *may* sometimes have other incentives that makes their price on your particular vehicle lower than invoice (such as incentives for a certain volume of vehicles sold), and you'd be able to find out about other incentives via services like Edmunds.com or KBB.com (there aren't any right now that I know of). But you won't be able to easily find out your dealer's true buying price. Sometimes it IS the "invoice" price, and sometimes it's lower.

You can find the dealer confidential wholesale pricelist (which is the same as the "invoice" price you're working with) on the information section of this site:

Great---thanks---I feel better. I've been negotiating with 5 dealers through the phone and internet and 1 locally. I got offers from as high as $2400 over invoice down to the $1000 over invoice. I feel pretty good about the deal and I love the car.

By the way, congrats on the wedding and the birth of your new car! Should be any day now, right?

$2K over invoice is a very good and fair deal. I used the Rizzo method notifying then sending to 6 local internet sales managers a request for quote on a car that had to be custom ordered. I asked all to accept a price of $1500 over invoice. The best price I received was the same $2K you have received. I took it and was very happy, as that what I anticipated paying to begin with. Plus, the dealer that really wanted the businees was the one closest and most convenient to my home and business.

I would do ED and save $5000 more. You can fly to Munich cheap in the winter months and take a day off work or Go on MLK weekend better yet. U should be able to do $1XXX over ED INvoice without MACO and training fees built into invoice.

In Houston, Texas, these damn sharks wanted $500 under MSRP. I had to drive to Dallas (250 miles away) to get my car. Houston dealers act like these 545i and probably 550i now are a rarity or something like that. BMW dealers (sales) in Houston stinks.
