BAT is definitely the best game in town when looking for maximum value, assuming you can get through their opaque submission process. Don't be surprised if you get rejected with no word on why. I tried selling a 135is and all I got from them was no. BAT is great for sellers, I think the verdict is still out for buyers. They seem to prefer to force prospective buyers to ask the questions as opposed to just having seller list everything they know in the ad. It's not that the ad is untruthful, but it's definitely kept purposely bare. Oddly, they ask for every bit of info you have at submission time, a time consuming process mind you, which makes their no comment rejections particularly annoying. All that being said, it's still the best place to sell E61s. There is clearly a market for these cars and while it boggles the mind that such buyers don't check the forums, they do go to BAT for what I imagine is some sort of statement on the quality of the underlying vehicle.

I would suggest you go through some of the prior listings, get a sense of the market, how best to list the vehicle, anticipate questions, and think long and hard what you tell BAT. I'm not suggesting you mislead buyers, only strategize on how to make it through their filters bc the BAT premium may be significant. Hell, maybe even go No Reserve. Again, not recommending it, but I've seen instances of sellers backing out at end of auction and the penalty is just getting banned from their site. If you aren't a dealer, who cares.

Good luck.

thats great insight, probably draft some type of bulleted narrative for the submission and have more specific info/answers ready for buyers. How many photos did you submit?

I'm not really sure how many I submitted, maybe 30 to 40. It wasn't clear to me whether these were photos to only support their listing decision or were to also be part of ad. I see plenty of ads with hundreds of photos, and I was willing to take that many should I get accepted, but that's a LOT of work just to ask to be listed and then told no with no further detail.

I found this article very helpful. It is definitely a lot of upfront work. Ideally, everyone wants max money for their ride, including me since I put so much work into the car since I had it, including all new Index 12 injectors which were not cheap!

BTW, anyone looking to trade a 1999 996 would be fine also!

Beautiful. I'm currently in the market for one although not in the price range yours will command.

Market seems to be between 8-20k, manuals at a huge premium of course. There was a 6MT wagon in NY for sale last week for 20k, 81k miles, fully stock.

One in Chicago is listed for $16k iirc, 170k miles, lots of mods, 6MT but not sure I'd touch that given the miles and modifcations

Curious how a 2010 e61 will do on BAT that is on now. I am planning on taking photos tomorrow. I cleaned the car today inside/outside.
