Here is the story. The car had 1 owner owner before me who put on 75,200 miles before I bought it. He had a very long highway commute through the hills of California where the car spent it's entire life(no snow). I searched long and hard for a 550 Sport in alpine white with a tan gut and I finally found this one that was purchased by a high-end dealership in Arizona. I had it shipped to me just after new years 2011. The car was in super-excellent shape aside from needing new tires which I knew and the usual stone chips on the front bumper cover from the highway. I keep all my cars in impeccable shape so the first thing I did was put brand new Continental DWS's on(what an improvement over thr Contisport 2's) and order an oem bumper cover from BMW, the car is now like new. I also had to protect that new bumper and paint so I had a 3M clear bra installed. I next put new Akebono ceramic brake pads all-around to limit brake dust on my 172's,new Bosch plugs and black kidney grill's. So now it was time to just add a little noise and a few extra ponies so on went the RPI exhaust(not installed in pic's)and scoop. The car was now exactly how I wanted it, near mint with a nice aggressive exhaust note. This is a garaged kept car that is used solely for pleasure(I drive a Honda Civic daily). In the past six months I have driven the car 300 miles...yes, that's all. Six weeks ago my wife callede me at work and uttered those 3 carzy words...I'M PREGNANT...AGAIN!!! I do not want to sell this car but I just may have to, ZI have wrestled with this decision for a month now so my loss is your gain. I am asking 30k OBO and I know it has 75k on it but it really is in amazing shape. Obviously, it runs perfect also. This is a great 2nd car for any bmw enthusiast out there. PM me if your interested.

unfortunately, with that kind of mileage who are unlikely to get much over 22k.
dealer trade-in of my (granted, one year older) loaded 550i w/ oem m-tech kit and new michelin pilot-sports, in absolutely mint, showroom, perfect, flawless, yada yada condition with barely 20k miles was 29k.

$30k for a 2008 LCI 550 is excessive? Are you guys friggin nuts? I just did a quick search in my area and I could not find a single 2008 for less than $30k, found around a dozen 2007's for $29 or less (depending on mileage).

Too often lately we have been bashing people for posting a car for sale at a price we think is too high. Does anyone else have KBB.com? Or are you guys so bitter about the drop in value of your own cars that you feel the need to bash anyone who's trying to sell their car at a fair price? If the OP had stated he wanted $40k - yeah, he's nuts, but go ahead and please provide a reference for 2008 LCI 550's going for less than $30k. Would he get $30k if he was trading it in? Of course not, dealers rape you on trade ins, but that's not what he's looking for, he's looking for a private party sale.

2 quick searches done: NO 2008 550's under $30k on cars.com
3 under $30k in autotrader - 2 were at $29,988 so they really don't count. The other was at $28950 - still fairly close to $30k and both searches were within 100 miles of my zip.

I appreciate the backup "pjinca". I in no way am trying to rip anybody off. Check Ebay, check anywhere...and it is listed at 30K "or best offer". I challenge anyone to find one for way under 30K, it won't happen unless the car is beat up looking. I've already been offered 27K at the dealer so my price is pretty good I think. And like "pjinca" said, why must we bash everyone's listed prices on what they are selling...just don't buy it. I am not trying to be confrontational with anyone on the forum here, I have learned a lot from you guys but just settle down...it is just an asking price on a car.

No problem, just getting tired of the flaming when someone's trying to sell their cars.
I can agree there's a BIG drop off from 2008 LCI 550's to 2007 Pre-LCI 550's, the 2007's I found topped out at about $25k and bottomed out at $22k. So, yes, you wouldn't get as much for a 2007, but that comparison isn't really apples to apples, is it?

Unfortunately I'm not in the market for a 550 yet (will be someday) but you guys are totally right. 30k is in the range of where this should be priced if you look at kbb or autotrader or anywhere else. I'd love to pay 10k for a M5 but no one is going to sell it to me unless it is salvage title or wrecked beyond belief.....

Maybe people are scared off thinking your car is a 'high mileage' car that was beat-up on roads in the NE? In my opinion highway miles are just the way BMWs love to be driven. And even at 3x average miles they don't hurt as much as half as many miles slugging it out on roads like the "Blue Route" or the Sure-Kill Distressway - if you know what I mean!

Your AW 550 looks great - GLWS

I hear ya, the highway's of Philly are brutal. I'm sure mileage is an issue at 70K but the car has only spent 421 of them in the northeast. The car spent all of it's life in the hills of California, it's never even seen snow.
