I looked for an '06 330i as well but couldn't find one with the options and color combo and finally decided a little longer wheel base might be a better car for her commute.Since she will be driving 120 miles/day to college,i want her to drive something comfortable (good seats,HUD,cold weather package,Logic-7) yet sporty (sport package) not to mention easy on the gas too (25MPG) on highway.

My Ride: Alpine White 2006 530Xi (SLD)
I often get even better than 25mpg on hwy and I have an Xi. Mine's a manual though. You're getting it for your daughter, I take it? Just make sure if she ever decides to run the car through some serious paces, that she does it in the appropriate environment. Honestly, I owned my car for almost a year before I went to a driving meet - and only after that did I actually feel like I own the car.
All in all, a great car. Especially with mileage that low, you should have a pretty much problem-free vehicle
I've considered trading my 530 in a dozen times, but every time it I couldn't let go of it
the only time I came really close, was when Mercedes had an insane deal on E63 AMG past summer and I almost leased one for mid-900's. But thankfully, my woman has more sense than I do and she firmly told me to forget it 
and still no regrets.
