Someone said about handling. That car was made for simple cruising. Why compare with sport sedan like BMW. Camry costs 3 times less and lasts 3 times longer. I am not one of their customers because i prefer performance. But those who are after quality, Toyota is a choice. And they never introduced Camry as "sport sedan"

It is interesting to see how press can influence people's opinion.
+1.

Our 04 camry just needs oil and its been running like a champ. Don't compare the Camry to a sports sedan. I am happy with Toyota and will go back to Toyota when we need another DD.

Id feel safer driving a toyota for 100k then driving a bmw for 100k. i dont even want to own a bmw after the life of the warranty.

ya, the media definitely blew it all out of proportion... i owned a lexus before my bmw and it never had a single problem. i guess the more cars a company sells, the more defective cars they produce, even if the fail rate is the same %age as other companies...

I totally agree.... I have never been a fan of Toyota cars and would not consider their propositions. But I have to admit, they have made money in the last 10 years more than the car industry combined. They do teach other companies how to be efficient (LEAN) in quality manufacturing. I have visited one of their assembly units recently in Japan and i have to say it is a state of the art facility with the best possible ways of working.
