I'm sure that it will be fun. But don't buy new - its going to depreciate faster than a Vectra 1.8
Vauxhall seem to undermine thier base value with big discounts on used. Just look at the way the previous Monaros have faired.

These are actually made in my home town of Adelaide, Australia by GM Australia otherwise know as Holden. This is the developed by HSV (Holden Speecial Vehicles) which is the motorsport division of Holden. You can pick one up a new one for about AUD 78K + on roads or USD63K. The M5 will set you back AUD 235K so here in OZ they are not even in the same price universe.
