i went car shopping today with a lady friend whose looking for a new ride, so i took her to the local BMW dealer.
We started of with the 135, 328, then to the 335,
the sales guy turned out to be BMW's certified race instructor and man did he drive that car!
Anyways, after that we checked out the Audi dealer up the street.

We checked out the A5 S-line manual.
Its a beautiful car. BMW can learn a few things about the little goodies they got.
Like magnetic handbrakes, looks like a little button instead of a handgrip.
Blind spot sensors, when u try to do a lane change, it will let you know if theres a car in your blindspot, etc etc.

Now the actual test drive.
Well she went for a drive and drove it back in. I asked her whats up? She said it didnt drive like a bimmer.
I said to myself, man that BMW sales guy really spoiled it for us with that spirited ride.
So I actually drove it myself, and man I was disappointed to tell you the truth.
In terms of feeling the road underneath you, suspension and handling, bmw is a ways ahead.
She even said that the 135 was a more responsive ride than the A5.
But she really liked the A5 headlights!

To make a long story short, we went back to BMW and she drove home in her own bimmer.
Theres a few other things that weighed in her decision, but i think it was the butt-dyno that gave BMW FTW!

Magnetic Handbrake makes u feel less connected to the car.

Also, the New E60's and 7-series have the Lane Change sensor as well (IIRC)

Great story but you left out the ending: which Bimmer did your lady friend get? Obviously, the 135 is the fastest and most responsive of the 3 you mentioned but is also the smallest.

mah bad bro, she picked up a 335, she was looking for a commuter car, and test drove a mini-cooper before saturday.
i convinced her to try the 135 atleast and she loved it. but the headroom in the back wasnt all that great and no AC vents in the back.
So 335 coupe, blk on blk, premium and sports package, with navi and comfort access, paid a little more above her budget, but its ok, shes a nurse

She also loved the free maintenance for 4yrs/50,000.
Audi offers something close for an extra $700+ but only covers oil changes. But not windshield wipers, brake pads, resurficing the rotors.
The free carwash every sunday at BMW dealer sold it too.

Yeah those little gadgets were cool, and there was so freakin many of em too. But it wore off after the test drive.
It was such a downer cuz i did want to pick up an A5.
btw that R8 is badass though.

Congrats! 335 coupe is a beauty.

Free carwash on Sunday?? Nice! Circle BMW sure didn't offer that to me with my 550 -- just a great price.
