To me this doesn't make sense, I could understand you keeping the 996 and swapping the 550i for the baby Aston, but to have the Aston and the 550i I think you would get bored if you have been used to having the Porsche.
The new Aston is great, but it is a quick GT not a sports car.

2007 550i 6-spd----> Premium package, sport package, Logic7, heated everything, Rogue Engineering SSK, CDV removal, hardwire V1 install, aFe cold air intake, Custom Magnaflow exhaust....
I drove the AMV8 2 days ago and I have to say the car was amazing. It's no match for a 911 performance-wise but its way more comfortable and interior is ten times better. Handling is pretty similar but I am sure that on-track performance of the Aston would never match that of the Porsche. Personally, I would have gotten the Aston because firstly, I don't use the performance of the Porsche on a daily basis and you only utilise the power if you track your car. Secondly, its way more exclusive than a Porsche. I live in MA and I see so many Porsches driving around and its getting really boring. The Aston would be a much welcoming change and I would love to see more of those beautiful cars around. Either way, both cars are beautiful

Precisely why I'm getting a new Porsche and keeping the 5er!
Last night outside mine there was the following cars, a Bently GT, an AVM8, a Q7 and a Porsche 997 C4 S, and there were a few kids standing and pointing at one of them saying that is their favourite car, guess which one?
Yep, the 911!

Also - with all those fine vehicles outside your place it sounds you must live in JonD's garage!

Yeah, but that's because Bentleys and Astons are two a penny back in England

Haha, not in my driveway unfortunately, I have a clothes shop and there is a nice restaurant across the road, so we tend to get nice cars parking up outside alot.

If its gonna be an Aston its gotta be a vanquish, otherwise its just an XK8 with a cool interior and front. Good choice sticking with the 997 and I kinda figured you would since you owned an 02 already and were used to that face first into the road feel.
