MB lost your business because a couple of oil change? I'm sorry but I have to LOL

Buy what you like without taking into consideration a couple of free oil change.

Why would you laugh at an indvidual, just because "they lost their business". Many indviduals look for customer service from organizations to supply free of anything. Do not get me wrong youre entitled to your opinion, but a lot of customers look to high end class dealerships to provide such a service IMO

I agree, good thing my dealer and sales advisor gives me free Deidrich's mochas. If I'm spending all that $$$, treat me like I did.

I looked at an E500 when I was looking at the 545.

The fact that MB stopped free maintenance was not helpful. It adds thousands of dollars to the ownership cost over 4 years.

Put that together with the fact that a comparably equipped E500 would have cost about $10,000 more.... and the 545 was a closed deal.

I also looked at the E500 & 545i. I liked the looks of the MB better than the 545 but then I drove it. The 545i was far and away much more exciting to drive. Price and scheduled maintenance had nothing to do with the decision to buy the 545i.

I was very upset that MB doesn't offer maintenance. We're leasing, and I don't want to be paying repair/maintenance bills on a car I don't own. That, coupled with a completely lifeless drive took them out of the running for me.

BMW is advertising the free maintenance very intensely. I don't think they plan on cancelling it in the near future. It is a HUGE selling point. Especially with all the negative publicity surrounding the high cost of servicing I-drive cars. I was talking to an independent dealer who just spent US $30K (cash only) on the computer required to fix the I-drive. He says that the replacement for the computer is already coming out soon and will cost US $80K (cash only). Guess who he will be passing the bill onto?
