More speculation on the upcoming GT-R from Nissan seen here testing at the Nurburgring.
World Car Fans.
"...it is now commonly known that it will be a 480hp twin-turbo V6 engine in the standard base GTR as well as the middle level GTR V-Spec. They will be priced at roughly $57,000 and $67,000 respectively. The range topping EVO version with the same VQHRTT engine as the standard and V-Spec models gets a power increase up to 530hp while losing 220 lbs. from the body for an unbelievably inexpensive price of $94,000."
In this video clip (an older one but still fun to watch), Nissan is very clear about which car model they are targeting in terms of track performance:

Agree. How can you spend 65k on a Nissan? forget 95k?
Which begs the question, why Nissan and not Infiniti? Can you imagine picking up your 95k monster in the same lot as a Sentra, or whatever their entry model is now. Not to mention the service department, which oh-by-the-way is excellent at Infiniti dealerships.
IMO, its as asinine as a company like VW, which has "specialized" in compact and mid-level sedans building a luxury sedan when they can just market it as an Audi. How stupid would that be?
