I have been seeing more and more about this car and just have really fallen in love with it. I am no tree hugger but feel that this car, if when released can meet the stats they are claiming, will be a step in the right direction for the environment.

Not bad! Although many people forget where the electricity comes from when you plug the car in to charge up. Often from coal burning power stations. I read something a while ago that researched this and concluded the total carbon output required to build and charge an electric car over its life time was actually worse than using a normal petrol car, I will have to try and dig it out...

I like it too. The Volt is getting a lot of positive press and I think it's justified - to me it looks like a much better proposition than the Prius and most other current hybrids.

I will reserve judgment until I see the cost. In all likelihood, a purchase like that will not be an economic one, but an emotional one. I agree with a previous poster, that such cars are possibly not even carbon neutral. The fact that something can run on ethanol does not excite me either as ethanol has high transport costs and potentially takes farmland away from other crops; raising prices of other commodities.

Excellent point.
Here in Chicago a plug-in vehicle will be a great fit - nighttime electricity is nearly 100% nuclear. But if you live in coal country ... not so good.

The plug-ins are coming: the Volt looks great; the Tesla Roadster is going to be a rocket; and Toyota is working on a plug-in Prius.

Interesting times in the automotive world ...

Right the price range is set between $25,000 to $30,000

Here is another one that will raise some eyebrows:

The problem with this is not many experts believe that they can live-up to their claims.

Don't decide too quickly. You will feel very disappointed when the actual version come out.

American auto manufacture make pretty good looking concept cars. When I saw the concept cars in the auto show, I always thought maybe this car will turn their bad business around. When the new cars display in the dealer, they always find the way to make it so looks cheap, and worst interior material compare with other car manufactures..
