They should have never diluted the brand so much by building big cars like the Panamera or the SUV Cayenne. While i truly love Porsche, i hate them for killing the brand for the sake of better incomes. In my eyes Porsche WAS the one and only german contender for Ferrari. Now it's more or less a BMW & Merc like brand.
Now? We'll just have to wait for an SUV Ferrari or a Ferrari saloon.
PS: This mutant of a Porsche obviously opened the door for car pimps and gangsta modding, and closed some for true car enthusiasts. I'd like to see a comeback of the Carrera GT! Now that's a proper Porsche !!!

Is it a pretty car? No. But if you are looking for jaw dropping performance in a car large enough to transport 4 people and their luggage (which to me is what the M5 is all about) it would be tough no to seriously consider the Panamera Turbo.

I understand your point but the performance numbers that the car mags are getting from the Panamera Turbo are unbelievable and absolutely blow the E60 M5's numbers out of the water. Indeed some of the major US car mags have found that its 0 to 60 time is fastet than the 911 Turbo: http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/09...turbo-road_test and http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/car/2010..._panamera_turbo

If you started comparing the Panamera to the M5, we have to agree that the M5 is by far a better car to look at and in many ways a total 'screamer' compared to the Panamera, which makes it much more appealing to some (myself included). Also the same truth is the fact that the Porsche will smoke it but...guys the M5 is how many years old?! With the new M5 just around the corner...

Well if you ask me, yes the performance is truly astonishing, nothing less to say, but the car isn't the nice car to look at and quite frankly Porsche being a conservative company on design, made the Panamera as if they stretched a 911 with a more abrupt and not very appealing back. Mind you the Cayenne looked till the LCI just as a pumped up Porsche 911...hideous.

I saw a white one in Short Hills mall & that thing was huge! Not to hijack the tread, but
is a funny video on Panamera's delayed deliveries.
