Those modded M6's are fast as hell. There is one that attends the GTBoard events in Sweden. Engine mods include: RPI scoops, BMC filters, Kelleners/Schrick cams, Evosport Headers, Kelleners race cats, Dinan exhaust.
The M6 put the smack down on a modded biturbo V12 SL65.

I prefer Porsche and GTR because they use 6 cylinders.
M series, Corvette, Viper, AMG all use 5.0 liter and above with too many cylinders. Not necessarily a bad thing, but for some reason, I like cars with 6 cyliners matching/beating super car performance.
Yes a modded M6 may pull on GTR or 911, but what happens in track?
I know BMW drivers always say this to AMG drivers.
Bring back the 333hp inline 6 from the last M3. That is a sweet piece.

Not really. A stock Z06 beats it in a straight line.

Here is a nice video stock vs. stock. Multiple runs from roll and dig, clearly the Z06 is quicker in a straight line. Really not a surprise since it weighs considerably less and has more horsepower. In the twisties it is a different story.

I think from a roll, you're might be right due to the higher HP of the vette. But it seems from line, the GTR is faster.
Car and Driver Comparo:
Z06: 1/4 mile 11.7 sec @ 124 mph
0-30 - 1.7
0-60 - 3.8
0-100 - 8.3
0-120 - 11.2
0-150 - 17.9
GTR: 1/4 mile 12.6 sec @ 111 mph
0-30 - 1.4
0-60 - 4.1
0-100 - 10.2
0-120 - 14.8
0-150 - 26.6
The GTR is faster off the line due to the Lauch Control, quicker to 30 mph by 3 tenths. But after that the Z06 smokes it. The Z06 trap speeds are impressive.
It is simple math.
Z06 - 505 hp, 470 tq, and 3180 lbs.
GTR - 480 hp, 434 tq, and 3920 lbs.
Z06 has a 740 lbs advantage, which is huge. Plus the extra 25 hp and 46 tq doesn't hurt.

Not according to the data in the comparos. It is the one thing the Z06 doest better, Straight line from roll and the dig.

Edmunds and I think Motor Trend have different number for 0-60 with the GTR at 3.3 as the fasting time and 1/4 mile at 11.8. At 12.6 @111 mph, that's slower than an M5? I don't know about Car and Drivers.
Its best to use the comparo numbers, since they were all done on the same surface, same driver, same day, same conditions.
There is another comparo done by Road and Track. The 911 turbo and Z06 had the same 1/4 time, with the GT-R a close second. The Z06 trap speed was the best.
Either way, the Z06 is quicker in a straight line.
