I got an invitation in the mail today to attend the "M-Class Tour." M-B is doing driving events to show off the new M-class. In my area, it's at the same place (a now-closed Air Force base -- lots of pavement!!) that BMW used 2 years ago for the Drive for the Cure. I figured, 'what the heck' -- it might be interesting, so I signed up.

I went a couple of weeks ago in San Francisco. It was not the best event I've been to. They only had two courses set up and both of them were somewhat lame. One especially didn't do anything for me.

I have been to other events, like the Mercedes C-Class event and the Porsche Cayenne introduction. Especially the Porsche event was awsome! They had us take the Cayenne S and Turbo on a high speed track with instructors in the passenger seat. And the off-road track they had set up was a "real" off-road track. With steep inclines, side hill driving, through water. Unfortunately they didn't want to give us a Cayenne to-go after the event.

Ya I saw that... I wanted to go but its a little far and none of my friends were too intersted... I've done the E-Class when it was first introduced and done the C-Class a few times they were fun!!!! I'm looking forward to the E90 one. I've done the E65 Li and that was awesome too! BMW beats the bunch as its timed and they have instructors teaching you how to take the corners...

The only other M-B event I've been to was the introduction of the S-class. That was at a really nice location in Washington DC, with champagne and fashion models and Ray Charles (he sang for about 20 minutes). That reconfirmed my belief that M-B may be luxury, but BMW is for drivers.

But I'm happy to go eat their food and drive their cars

I got this invitation also. I'm going next month. Nothing like beating the balls out of an ugly ML. I too did the Cayenne drive and that was alot of fun.
